A little Flare in our lives with the new HARE

After years (yes it really has been years) of the kids begging me for a pet I finally gave in... a therapist we know was giving away one of her bunnies she used with children in sessions.  After talking with her about the calming affects a bunny (or any number of pets) can have on kids I decided as a  "good Mom" I should get a bunny.  So, it has been a week that we have had bunny in our home and I have to admit he is a good fit for us.  He is low maintenance as pets go and has become a fast friend to the kids.  It has also provided the kids with some new responsibilities as they are in charge of all cleaning, feeding and caring of bunny.

It took a few days for bunny to warm up to the kids.  Carli was persistent and sat next to the bunny singing and talking for many hours and toady the bunny let her hold him for very long periods of time and carry him around like a doll.  I think bunny better be careful or she will be dressing him like a doll and pushing him in her stroller.   The cutest thing is she told me...

Carli: mommy the bunny whispered in my ear today

Me: what did he tell you?

Carli: he made a little noise and then said I was the best friend he ever had!

Me: you are a great friend to everyone especially bunny (trying not to laugh)  I couldn't wait for Matt to get home and tell him all about it LOL

So, why do I keep referring to our new pet as bunny?  He still has no name... the previous owner thought this bunny was a girl and named her Molly but we found out it is a boy and Jeremiah insist we change the name.  So, I told the kids they have to agree on a name.  So far they cannot agree.  The funny thing is Carli took bunny to school today for show and tell and her class sent home a list of names LOL so here is where you come in.  I am going to post the list of names from Carli's class and let you vote on a name.  Nest week the vote with the most names will be bunny's new name!  Don't let us down, cast your vote and if you want ask your kids and let them vote too!  THANKS for playing;)

Here is the list (remember it is from preschool)

marshmellow
candy
snowy
pepper
copper
jellybean
chocolate
yummy
bernie

You decide!

Bunny is almost as big as Carli! What a good mom you are to finally give in. (It's not a snake, so that's good, right!)

My vote it for "Bernie the bunny". Has a nice ring to it. Not that marshmallow isn't great! lol!

My daughter Paige tried out all the names {calling out to your bunny to come}
Marshmallow worked the best for her.
Thanks for asking for our opinion.
Fun!

You probably already named him but i would have voted for npepper because I had a pet pepper when I was growing up. So glad you got your kids a pet. Pets are so wonderful for kids.
