Baby Bryce

After seeing Lizzy I noticed that my Baby is not so tiny anymore... and growing into a toddler way too fast.  He is very busy these days getting into everything!

Baby Lizzy

Carli  is very taken with Sarah's new little girl.  She wants to go visit her and hold her everyday. And on our Target trip she filled my cart with baby girl stuff for Lizzy.  We picked one thing to bring to Lizzy and Carli got to bring the little pink and black shoes to her today.  They were so tiny looking but as we put them on Lizzy the shoes suddenly seemed huge.  I think Carli wants a sister but she may just have to play with baby Lizzy.

My Horrible, No good, Very Bad Day

I stole this title from one of my favorite kids books and I love to read it to my kids when they are having a bad day.  Today I can relate.  My day started with my early run as usual.  However, when I got up the baby was not awake to eat yet so I had to wake him up to feed him.  I hate when this happens and I feel so awful waking a sleeping baby.  However, if I don't he wakes up really hungry while I am out running.  And I cannot just stay home because I have a friend waiting on me and its dark when we go so I can't leave her alone.  When I return home I find all the kids are awake and Bryce never went back to sleep.  Ok, so I will have to give him an early nap.  After walking Jeremiah to school I return home in hopes to give the baby a nap and unload my dishwasher.  I find that my dishwasher is broken and all the dishes are still dirty.  I don't have time to think about it because Carli starts telling me that she is in pain.  I call the Dr. right away as she has reoccurring UTIs and I know we need to get her in ASAP.  The Dr is booked until 3pm.  I explain to his nurse I can't be there at 3pm as I have to pick up my son from school and then we go to piano, dance and soccer.  She tells me to come in and the Dr will fit us in.  Two hours later I have one prescription, one sad little girl, and a very tired baby.  Carli has been dealing with UTIs for over a year now and I hate to watch her in pain.  The Dr says it is genetics and there is nothing we can do but has referred us to a urologist.  I hate when my babies are sick and I feel so hopeless.  And it is frustrating because every time we have to start potty training over again because she gets afraid of the toilet as she associates it with the pain.  As I was sitting in the Dr office I almost started to cry ( which is unlike me) but I hate that we just cannot get over this.  After our Dr visit we run to Target to fill her meds and there is a 30 minute wait in which I manage to find many items I "need".  Finally, we head home with just enough time to feed the kids and pack snacks for piano and dance.  Everything goes ok at piano... then we arrive at Dance and Bryce tips over the entire water cooler... and Carli has to pee at the same moment.  Anyone ever undressed a dancer who needs to pee NOW!  Not easy.  I spend the rest of dance trying to keep a very tired and upset baby away from the water cooler.  He finally passes out in my arms just in time to get woken up when I put him in his car seat.  We head home and I start a crockpot dinner... and remember that my dishwasher is still broken.  I still don't have time to deal with it as we have to get to soccer.  We arrive home from soccer eat some dinner and I head up stairs to give Bryce a bath.  The thing to turn on the bath water is missing.... Matt tells me he broke it last night.  I have to wait for him to hook up a wrench so I can turn it on.  As I am waiting I go in my room to get Jeremiah on the computer to do homework and the light in my room is out!  Now I have to go back to Target!  It all works out and the kids are in bed.  I go down to face my kitchen, UGH!  Dishes everywhere and no dishwasher.  I do all the dishes by hand.  My house is clean now, the  kids are in bed I hope it is over.  But if one more thing breaks or one more person gets sick I am moving to Australia!

My Love/Hate relation ship with Target

I went into Target today to fill a prescription.   I love to fill my kids meds there because they have the coolest bottles that make it easy to use little kid medicine syringes. They also mark each bottle with a color band so you know which med is for which kid.  However, what I hate is that I went in to get sippy cups, shoes for baby, fill the meds and I came out with about 25 items.  This always happens to me at Target.  Please tell me I am not alone... it is a dangerous place. Not to mention Target has a really bad return policy and so I swear I am never going back but somehow I always end u "needing" to go there....

Jeremiah Gives a Talk

Jeremiah gave a talk on prayer today in Primary.  He worked hard on writing the talk (with help of course).  He did an excellent job and we are so proud of him!  Jeremiah is really becoming such a great boy and we feel blessed to have him.

As Jeremiah talked on prayer it reminded me how simple it really is.  We are our Heavenly Father's children and he wants to hear from us.  Just as I love to hear Jeremiah tell me about his day at school each day when he comes home He loves to hear from us about our day.  Let's not forget to pray!

Photoshop fun

I did not think I would get to the point where I could use photoshop and fun in the same sentence together.  I have had a hard time with the program iphoto is sooo easy... however... I could not fix the red eye in this photo because Carli's eyes are to close to the red glows tick.  So, my friend Sharla gave me the idea and steps to make the photos BW and add the glow stick color only.  I love the way it turned out.  Thanks for the idea Sharla!

Dance Dance Dance

Carli started her second dance class this year and she loves it!  I love the underwear that shows because she says,  "it is just too hot to wear tights" it was 100 that day but notice the other girls have tights.... that is my stubborn, strong willed little Carli!

Hawaii

No, I did not talk Matt into the dreaded flight to Hawaii... however our 10 year anniversary is this year (hint...hint).  My Mom did make a trip to the Island and came back bearing gifts.  Thanks Nammy!

Twain Movie Night

What do you get when you put a movie in the school yard and kids with glow sticks?  Flying glow sticks, crying babies, pizza on the ground and girls who think they have been poisoned by the very dangerous leaky glow stick!  I think the only people actually watching the movie was Jeremiah, Nathan and a few parents.  It was a little chilly but tons of fun!  We had a great time with the Borcherdings, Allens, Banisters, Smiths and Burke families!

Nothing Better

When I came home from my run morning I found this in my bed.  There is really nothing I like more than sleeping kids.  They are so cute and quite (haha).  What I love most is this time in the early morning when they climb into my bed and cuddle.  Things have been busy with our Fall schedule and I think they are worn out:)

Carli goes bananas!

This morning as we were going to church Carli informed us that she was harboring a monkey in her stomach.  You see, Carli was still hungry after her breakfast of eggs, waffles, and bananas. When she was asked how she could possibly still be hungry after eating so much, she came up with the only logical explanation.  She said, "Well, there is a monkey in my stomach and it's eating all the bananas."  Apparently the monkey is still there.  She has consulted him (or her) several times today (she looks really cute talking to her belly, and the belly talks back Pet Detective Style.)  We now know that the monkey leaves the Starbursts alone but is always ready to eat fruits and vegetables with a definite preference for, you guessed it... bananas!  I am such a lucky dad to have such cute kids.

BABIES

Today I got to hold my new baby nephew!  He is only 6 days old and so cute!  While I was holding him I got to visit with his Mommy (my sister Jill) and my other sister Megan.  We all live within a 60 miles radius but somehow we never see each other often enough.  It was good to spend time with them and I am so proud of Jill.   She is a good Mommy and I know it takes awhile to get use to 2 little munchkins, but you will.  I love you and baby Tyler!

Before seeing baby Tyler I was at my Aunt's house for a baby shower for my cousin.  She is having a little baby girl, her second kid.  I am so happy for her and cannot wait to hold her little girl when she gets here.  My other cousin Katie made the cutest cake and I wish I had taken photos to post.  It was a big pregnant belly and sooo cute!!! Good job Katie!

I love my extended family so much and wish we could all spend more time together.  It is a good thing people keep having babies and giving us a reason to get together and celebrate.

Spinning Circles

Do you remember being young and spinning around and around until you couldn't walk straight anymore?  This was one of my favorite things to do...I loved to spin until I would fall over.  But, after awhile I would start to wonder why I was doing this to myself I mean I couldn't even get up I was so dizzy.  Now I have done it again.  I am dizzy with my fall schedule.  I feel like I live in the car and I cannot seem to keep my schedule clear for even one day to get caught up on laundry.  I am hoping things will calm down soon.  I know we will adjust to the new schedules soon but I cannot help but long for the summer days when there was no homework...

Bryce is 10 MONTHS

BUSY BRYCE!  I cannot believe he is 10 months old.  He is becoming a little guy so fast yet he still feels like my little baby to me.  We have been so busy that Bryce has lived in his carseat and stroller.  (I have so much guilt about this)  He is such a good baby he doesn't complain too much and he seems to enjoy his time at soccer practice.  Which explains these photos...I needed to take his 10 month photos and I am so busy that I thought I better just take them "on the go" so here he is at soccer practice.  He makes a cute soccer guy, I think:)

10 things Bryce Loves:
  1. b-i-n-g-o song
  2. cars and wheels of every kind and balls of course
  3. he LOVES to  swing in our yard everyday and if we try to skip it he goes to the back door and cries.
  4. walking while pushing his walker toy thing (what do you call those)
  5. his brother and sister (he thinks they are VERY FUNNY)
  6. his DADA
  7. to say "digem, digem, digem"  I don't know what it means
  8. to "play" piano with Jeremiah
  9. big people food especially ice cream
  10. bath time

Jeremiah's busy days

While Carli is just getting started Jeremiah is well into his school year.  He has already had homework, test, soccer practice and games, piano, and chess club!  He has been a busy guy and he seems to be really enjoying himself.  He likes his class and his teacher this year!  He is having a great time playing soccer and still loves piano and chess.  Jeremiah I am proud of you and all the hard work you put in!

Carli's First Day of Preschool at FUMPS

Carli finally gets her BIG DAY!  She waited and waited for this day to come...and she was bubbling over with excitement when she finally got to go to her new preschool!  She meet her teacher Mrs. Skiver and played with her friend Hannah on the huge playground.  She meet new "friends" in the science center: marshmellow the bunny, a few lizards and turtles.  And after a fun day we kept with our first day of school tradition and went for ice cream!  I am so proud of you Carli you are such a brave and friendly little girl.  You are not afraid to try new things or meet new people and I LOVE YOU!

Preschool visit

Carli has been begging to go to school everyday... finally last Friday we go to visit the school and meet her teacher.  She didn't want to go home and cannot wait to go back.  She has always been my little independent girl.  She has always been very determined too.  She tired a few times to make it all the way across these monkey bars and she didn't give up until she had succeeded.

Aunt Cindy gave Carli a Build-A-Bear Workshop gift card for her birthday.  She was in her element as she created her monkey.  She really loved dressing it up and picked everything PINK and SPARKLY as you can see.  The MONKEY has become her "daughter" and loves to play MOMMY all day!  Thank you Aunt CINDY and Uncle DAVE for the perfect GIFT!

Toy Story Mania

Carli had a few weeks before she started preschool...so we had some fun Mommy and Carli days!  We decided we needed to check out the new ride at CA adventure.  This is a very cool ride.  Lots of fun!  Carli and I had a great day and we made it home in time to pick Jeremiah up from school...shhhh he doesn't know.  I wasn't sure what I was going to say but then Carli never mentioned it so I figured why tell him:)

Summers End

This was our last adventure group outing for the summer.  It was so much fun and YUMMY too!  We went to CPK and the kids got to make their own pizzas.  While we waited for the pizzas to cook the kids had a behind the scenes tour of the restaurant.  The best part was when they brought out pizza and salad for the Moms too.

Bye-Bye

Bryce waved Bye-Bye to Daddy for the first time today!  Its was so cute.  He waves, says Dad and Dog.  He can sign fan, dog, cat, more and ball...but he still can't say mommy...go figure!
