Jeremiah goes Back to School

Jeremiah had his first day of second grade Monday.  He was bummed that summer was over but I think a little excited too.  He had a great first day.  He had a few friends in his class.  When I picked him up from school he told me that his teacher is the nicest and best in the WHOLE second grade!  Guess it doesn't get better than that:)
We went to piano after school and his teacher said he hadn't forgotten too much.  Jeremiah was excited to start playing again.  And he is looking forward to the recital.
Every night I ask the kids what their favorite and worst part of the day was.  I was excited to find out his answers to these questions on the first day of school.  He said the best part was math and there was not a worst part.  It made me so happy to hear he had a great first day.
Just a funny thing he said....
So, the next day  as we are walking home from school he says, "I like this class better because in first grade the teacher didn't know anything I didn't know.  But in second grade my teacher knows some stuff I don't know yet!"  He is a funny kid:)

Nine New Things Bryce Can Do...
Loves to swing...if he is crying we go to the backyard and swing it fixes everything.

He thinks it is cool to stick it out
Tries to climb up my leg.  Actually, he likes to climb just about anything!
Thinks it is FUN to take out all the cups, pots and pans
Loves to open and shut doors...or anything that moves
Likes to make a mess.  One of his favorite messes to make is dumping out each marker from the tray.  He likes to color on the white board too!

LOVES to play the piano and make LOTS of noise
He is a pro at the stairs.  It is a little scary!

He loves to play patty-cake and make Indian noises with his hand.

The Lagoon

We spent one of the last days of summer at one of our favorite spots.  The Lagoon!  We lived near this spot in Irvine and went there often with our friends The Alberts and The Byers.  I have pictures of our boys here when they were 8 months old all the way through until now.
It was such a FUN day!  When we left both my kids couldn't stop talking about how much fun they had.  Thanks Amber and Jenna for having us to play!

Buddies

Cody, Jeremiah and Ben
I think these boys will always be buddies.  They first started to hang out the summer before they turned one.  And the fun has never stopped!  Even though we have moved and the boys only get together about twice a year they can pick up were they left off.  I am amazed to see how much they have grown.  We had to chase these wild boys everywhere...now they chase each other and one day I am sure they will be chasing girls together:) Their friendship brings laughter and joy to Jeremiah's life I feel blessed that he has such good friends.

Feeding Ducks

This is the duck pond in the cemetery by our home.  I like to take the kids here when I want a peaceful afternoon.  My grandparents are buried here.  I have never been to the grave sites.  I like to visit by feeding the ducks instead.  I have wonderful childhood memories of my Grandma and Grandpa taking me to feed the ducks at Knotts Berry Farm and I love being able to share this with my kids.

OREO

New Favorite Food

Our BIG Adventure

We just arrived home from a week long trip up to visit Grandma and Grandpa Anderson.  The kids don't get to see them often enough so we thought it would be fun to visit them this summer.  I was a little worried about flying alone with 3 kids but it all went very smooth.  I can say we even had fun!  And that was only the beginning! When you have Grandpa around even a walk to the park can become a grand adventure!  We had a great time swimming, playing at the park, visiting the kids museum, hiking, and playing with Dad's old star wars toys (yes they still have them)! I remember my Grandparents home feeling magical when I would visit them and I could see that same excitement in my own children's eyes as they spent time at their Grandparents home.  Thanks for allowing us to turn your world upside down for a week!  We LOVE you and miss you already!

Carli's Path

This is one of those spots at Grandma and Grandpa's house that is magical for little Carli.  She loves walking up and down this path checking out little bugs and flowers on her way.

Monkey Around

Jeremiah had time to master the monkey bars!

Splish Slpash Bryce is in the TUB

This was the first time Bryce was in a real tub with out any baby seat.  I didn't think it would be a good idea to pack the baby tub on the airplane HAHA  He really enjoyed his real bath tub experience. (maybe we will nee to try it at home)  We had to keep the bathroom door closed as he wanted to try to climb in the tub over and over.

THE BUMPS

Grandpa had a little too much fun pushing the kids on the swings.  He got them so high the got to the "bumps".  The bumps as Grandpa calls them are when you swing so high you lift off the swing just a little right at the top.

Grandpa and Grandma's Pool

We spent a lot of time in the pool...a perfect way to spend the last few days of summer! Jeremiah learned some new tricks off the diving board from his Uncle Ryan.  Carli was fearless as ever and jumping of the diving board too.  The kids tried to join in a pool bball game with their Uncles and Dad but it was just too rough.  Uncle Todd even had to go to urgent are due to injuries!

Grandma Time

We spent one of the days visiting the Museum for kids.  It was so much fun and easier with Grandma there to hold Bryce.  I think Grandma and Bryce had some good bonding time.
